Jing Drewes

Dane County Youth Apprentice

Education: Senior in high school

Research interests: I am interested in understanding the Cranberry Fruit Rot (CFR) complex and work closely with my mentor, Evan, to learn more about the 12 CFR pathogens to develop disease management strategies. We are currently testing heat treatments that could hopefully be used during cranberry propagation to ensure disease-free plantings. For my undergrad program, I would like to go into genetics to learn more about pathogen biology at the molecular level.

Personal Interest: After I leave the lab, I often like walking my dogs and cooking new dishes, while exploring the world around me.
